Dr Bojosi Gamontle has over 15 years of combined research and professional work experience in occupational health and healthcare industry.
She obtained a PhD in Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (2019) from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. For her Ph.D., her dissertation title was Perspectives of Botswana policy-makers and healthcare workers towards Tuberculosis infection control and occupational health measures. She has also conducted research that aimed at exploring bio-aerosol exposure in healthcare workers in British Columbia..
Dr. Gamontle also has a Master of Public Health – Environmental and Occupational Health (2008), from the Enid and Mel Zuckerman College of Public Health, University of Arizona. Thesis title, Descriptive analysis of the financial burden of back injury and other musculo-skeletal disorders at University Medical Center (Tucson, Arizona) utilizing workers’ compensation data.
In 2020, Bojosi joined one of the health authorities, in British Columbia Canada, as an exposure prevention specialist. Her portfolio included leading the implementation of the communicable disease exposure prevention and control program, as well as conducting research that informed program implementation. Currently, Bojosi is a lead for the Health and Safety Management System – at the same health authority- where she develops standards and supports the consistent implementation of occupational health programs across the health authority sites.
Prior to obtaining her PhD, Bojosi has worked as a senior health officer in an environmental and occupational health department of Ministry of Health (Botswana), where she coordinated programs such as “Making Medical Injections Safer”. She has also worked as an occupational therapist for the government of Botswana.
